Dear all! Today the Church commemorates the Entrance of the Mother of God into the Temple, one of the Great Feats of the Church. The Gospel for today is Luke 10:38-42, 11:27-28 and the Epistle is Hebrews 9:1-7.
“Today, the most pure temple of the Savior, the precious bridal chamber and Virgin, the sacred treasure of God, enters the house of the Lord, bringing the grace of the Divine Spirit. The Angels of God praise her. She is the heavenly tabernacle.”
According to the tradition of the Church, Our Lady was brought to the Temple when she was three years old. There she was consecrated to God and spent her days praying and growing closer to God. She was led into the Holy of Holies by the High Priest because she was so full of grace, and this was unusual because only the High Priest could enter into the Holy of Holies, and that only once a year when he would offer a purifying sacrifice to God.
The Virgin-Mary remained in the Temple until she was fourteen or fifteen years old. As a mature young woman, by the common counsel of the priests (since her parents had reposed some three years before), she was betrothed to Joseph.
Most Holy Mother of God pray to God for us!
